Everybody Writes - The Giant Dig!

On Monday 25th January the children made an unexpected and rather peculiar discovery; they were alerted to a message given by our school caretaker who advised the children that something mysterious was lurking in the school grounds...
The children became archaeologists for the day and went outside to dig the marked zones; throughout the course of the morning they discovered many unusual artefacts such as bones, precious stones and even a large tooth! The biggest discovery was made by Year 6 who recovered a giant egg! In the afternoon we were joined by officers from a local police station (PC Palmer and his team) who spoke to the children about what they found and double checked the egg using their tools! The officers were absolutely brilliant - they engaged with the children fully and added to the excitement of the day!
The children had a brilliant but rather messy time digging - the entire day was full fun and mystery. I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any clothes and shoes which became muddy as a result; nonetheless every child fully participated with the event and I look forward to reading some fantastic writing as a result!
None of this would be possible without the help and support of the entire staff at Rosetta, mainly our school caretakers - and it's official - Rosetta has the BEST caretakers in the WORLD!
If you would like to see pictures from the day, please have a look at the Rosetta TV!
